Job Summary:

Join our dynamic team as a Gravel Pit Operator and become a vital part of our construction and material extraction operations. In this energetic role, you will operate heavy equipment to extract, process, and load gravel and other aggregates at our quarry site. Your expertise will help ensure efficient production, safety compliance, and smooth daily operations. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs, and paving machinery to extract and process gravel.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.
  • Manage material loading and unloading processes efficiently while maintaining safety protocols on-site.
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, and paving activities to support construction projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and environmental regulations to maintain a secure work environment for all team members.
  • Collaborate with team members to coordinate daily tasks and troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment operation, maintenance logs, and production data.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge:

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, tankers, horizontal drilling rigs or paving machinery in a construction or quarry setting.
  • Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on construction machinery.
  • Valid commercial driver’s license with experience operating large vehicles like dump trucks or tanker trucks.
  • Strong understanding of construction site safety practices and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety and productivity.
  • Ability to obtain MSHA certification.
  • Prior experience in gravel pits or aggregate extraction is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
